a tale of two hearts

mothers day 2012

I don't like being sick. It's so frustrating being so helpless and useless. I've been at home for the last two days while you've been flat out at work. The good news is I finally have some energy!

I watched the 'Iron Lady' this afternoon and then received an email from your dad updating us on nana.

I think it was a combination of me being sick, the movie and the news about your nana that made me remember:

"All men are like grass, and their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall" 1 Peter 1:24

Life is short. We need to be so wise with how we spend little time that we have.

little foodies

Last Sunday I spent the afternoon at Adam and Nic's place while you were at home making your first risotto. By the way if I haven't already mentioned it 10 times, you totally killed it -  in a good way!

While I was taking these pic's for Nic it occurred to me that many many years ago, Ad and Nic were my youth leaders and I was so inspired by them that I wanted to someday be a leader just like them. And when the opportunity came up I did my very best to do just that.

On Sunday while watching Ad and Nic I realised I still have that same sense of awe and admiration about what they are doing today. Hopefully in a few years time we'll get the opportunity to be parents just like them too.

family snaps

Such a pretty bunch.

I think I've developed a little soft spot for these furry little creatures thanks to Bobby aka "da prettiest kitty that I ever did saw!"

One day I will get a cuddle from you Bobby.
On second thoughts I probably won't will I?
Oh well I'll just have to admire you from afar.

A few snaps from Christmas last year.

I know which glasses I'd rather have ;)
The top left image always makes me laugh when I see it.

How nice is it catching up with everyone. We're so blessed.
