a tale of two hearts

i'm a model: cameron russell

J - guess what! I finally found a TED video you may actually want to watch. It's by Cameron Russell, three words 'Victoria Secret Model'. I'm not even going to bother telling you what it's about cause I figure you'll be curious enough to just watch this one :P

brunch at bills

Oh how I love my dates with these two! This was our last brunch date together for the next little while - so bitter sweet.

Our next brunch date will look a little different. It'll  consist of Dee and I having breakfast here in Sydney while Jeza has her dinner in NY, as we sit hunched over our computers on Skype, I mean, in a google 'hangout' :P

Love knows no timezone!

The church service we attended in New York was one of the biggest highlights of the entire trip for me. It wasn't so much the preaching or the music but more so the personal revelation I had that night.

We have a good life, a great life. We've traveled a lot and seen so many incredible things, and here we now were in New York, living it up for 3 weeks. We were in the city of all cities - shopping like there was no tomorrow, eating wherever we wanted to, doing whatever we wanted to do - so spoilt.

As the first song started, I had a little sideshow going on in my head of all the things we had done in the last few weeks in New York and then all the the things we had done and seen in Africa, followed by Europe and then Asia. I sat there amazed at how much we'd seen in the last few years, how could two people be so blessed to see so much of the world together.

My heart was bursting with thankfulness...not because of the places and things we'd been fortunate enough to do but because I realised that of all the sights and of all the experiences I've had and there have been plenty...nothing, not one comes even close to the breathtaking beauty and majesty of God's love, grace and sweetness.

And so the water works began and I stood there singing that song and all the others to follow during that service with tears streaming down my cheeks with a full and thankful heart.

Years ago I remember coming across people like Carl Lentz, they'd speak about God is such a personal and genuine way. It totally baffled me. I had no idea what they were on but I could tell it was real and genuine for them. Years later I find myself speaking about the same stuff. I'm sure it probably baffles some and makes them shake their heads and wonder what exactly I'm on :P

This is the interview I was telling you about the other night, definitely worth a watch.

mr pink shirt

It's been a while since I've had the energy and time to blog - I miss it.

Can't wait for all the renovations to be done or for us to have our kitchen back. Having the house upside down with drop sheets covering everything isn't my cup of tea. Not long now.

And on top of all that - I miss not hanging out with you after work. It's no fun having to share you this time of year with all those band rehearsals - I guess it's part of the deal when you're married to someone who's so darn talented.

So in your absence I'll just have to sit here looking at photos of my favourite person in this whole wide world.

Yes - that's you mr pink shirt.

[You in Central Park NY]

interview by a 12 year old

I just watched this - so beautiful!

Joshua Littman, a 12-year-old boy with Asperger's syndrome, interviews his mum, Sarah.

Such a sweet interview - reminds me that life doesn't always meet our expectations and that's not such a bad thing.

How funny is the line... "Well, I was the one who made you a parent..."

renovation season

Renovation season has began for the Vilevski girls!
Here is Andrej and Maja's place last time we were there just before we began painting for the afternoon.
Mum feeding the troops!!
[Side note: Mum thank you so much for dropping over dinner for J and I the last few nights - it's meant a lot to us both and thank you for all your work supervising the installers today. You'll be the first to get an invite for dinner once our new kitchen is all in!]

Can't wait to see the progress they've made!
